Staying with Martin and Claudia Kelsey (http://www.birdingextremadura.com/web/inicio.htm) is highly recommended - the room, food and birding info was all superb. Also, if you're thinking of going down there, try to get John Muddeman's "Where to Watch" book - it may be back in print by now.
