What is its status in the parts of Europe where it breeds?
How commonly is it kept in collections?
Have been watching one today alongside Ruddy Ducks, an interesting bird.

I wondered about it's origins too. I know there are quite a few at Washington WWT.
The BOU does not acknowledge white-headed duck as part of the British List and all occurrences are taken to be escapees. I guess that may change as more are being seen.
