What would be a good year list figure in the UK?

Hi all,

I'm 15 and want to know what you think would be a good year list for me?

I've only been birding for two year. At the momment I'm on 156.

P.s. I live in norfolk, england

Glad we got this moved as I can now put an answer on it.

As you are not old enough to drive yet and will have to either walk, bike or for friends and relatives to give you a lift I think you have a good total.

Why not get a bird book go through it and make a list of the ones that you have yet to see. From those you could narrow it down to "Not a hope", Hopefully and do-able. With you coming from Norfolk you should do well on quite a few species. How about nagging parents to go on Holiday in Highlands of Scotland or similar where there are quite a few that you would never see otherwise.

that's better than me this year - i'm on a measly 113, and i've birdwatched for years. my best has only ever been 163 or something. In A Twitcher's Diary, if i remember right, the author reckons you're doing really well if you reach 200. But i think whatever beats my best for a year is a good figure for the year.
