I am already excited about the trip I am taking with 13 others to the Galapagos Islands with Arthur Morris. We will be following Mr. Morris among the islands by yacht photographing the flora and fauna (mostly birds). I am eager to learn from this great photographer and teacher.
I will have many, many digital images when I return and will be sharing the best ones with you folks.
I am taking with me, the new Canon 30D camera, a Canon Macro, the 100-400 lens, and a 150mm wide angle spotting scope with T- rings to take my 30D or my old Nikon 8008 35mm backup camera, and a medium weight tripod and a nice monopod. I will be using a 30G pocket hard drive to dump my images off the card to daily. I will carry all this in a backpack photographer's bag. It now weighs about 15 lbs, so I will probably not carry this everywhere when I get there. I will make good use of the vest and try to travel light.
I am seeking any advice I can get from any of you that have been there or can offer any tips for the journey.
Thank you most kindly, in advance.
Wow, what a trip of a lifetime, endemic birds and Arthur Morris on hand to make sure you get the best photos from the trip.
I know a number of our members have visited Galapagos, hopefully they can offer some tips specific for the Islands.
regards,
Andy
