Unusual bird of prey, Dorset, UK

Hi all. I am new to this forum so I hope I'm in the right place.
Saw a strange sight in Dorset, about 5 miles north west of Poole last Saturday, early afternoon. Heard a commotion going on and looked up to see several crows (probably a dozen or more) mobbing what appeared to be a large bird of prey. Buzzards are a common sight now but this was so much bigger than the crows I don’t believe that’s what it was. They were very high up and I had no binoculars handy so it’s hard to offer many details but it did appear to be mostly white or pale coloured underneath with broad black, or dark, trailing edges to the wings. It was soaring in a very leisurely fashion – buzzards seem to get irritated quite readily when mobbed and flap off but this just continued to go round in wide circles. The whole group was being blown along by a fresh easterly breeze so were soon past but I’m sure other people would have seen it too. I cannot find anything remotely similar in British bird books so expect it was an escape. Although I could not see bill or legs it did remind me of a marabou stork, common sight in many parts of Africa. Any ideas anyone? Did anyone else see it?

How about Osprey?
