I will be visiting Greece with a group of 20 all members of the local Astronomy club, to be on the island of crete to witness the eclipse of the planet VENUS and the SUN on June 8th about 8.00Am.
We will be staying on Crete for 7 days and while there I would like to do some local bird photography (digiscoping).
I am seeking for information from those who have done this in the past.
regards

I will be there Greek language interpreter :-)
what a combo, a dutch lad living in canada to speak greek...
You must go to the Samaria Gorge in the West of the island. You will never forget this beautiful place bursting with wildlife.
Samaria gorge is really good, if you can, try the Lassithi Plateau, we saw Olive tree warbler, crag martin, crested lark, eleanora's falcon and lammergeier, to name but a few.
Happy birding! Anywhere along the coast road has some great birds, put your bins on anything that moves!
If you don't come back with sardinian warbler and crested lark at least, you're not trying!
