Hi all,
An eclipse male Blue-wnged Teal was found yesterday at Kilcoole,Co.Wicklow.I have never seen one!For a few reasons,I was unable to travel for it today, and the tension is killing me!Apparently,it was only seen briefly yesterday, and I'm also worried about:
a)it not being seen again
b)even worse, going up and dipping, only for the bird to be seen again by others!
Probably go tomorrow, but would have to get two buses(Cork-Dublin,then back south from Dublin-Kilcoole:remember well how much trouble it is to get there without a lift!)

Hi Harry,
Good luck and hope you get it!
If you don't, you can always console yourself by saying it's an escape

Hi Michael,
"If you don't, you can always console yourself by saying it's an escape "
Don't you think I've thought of that already as a nice get-out clause! If I DO see it,then it's an obvious wild bird,of course!
Was reluctant to go by bus,as I thought that a lift may have been forthcoming. This will not happen, and as a friend of mine is probably going by bus in the morning, then I may as well go with him rather than waiting until I have more money("paid" on Thurs)and going all that way alone.
