Like most I have my various lists, most are nothing to write home about. Just got back from two weeks in Spain and I'm fairly pleased with the following list from the sun lounger..
House Sparrow,
Tree Sparrow
Parakeet (fleeting glimpse and not too sure but I don't think it was ring necked)
Collared Dove
Wood Pigeon
Turtle Dove
Goldfinch
Serin
Magpie
Bee-eater
Short toed Eagle
Cattle or Little Egret (too distant and too dark to fully ID)
Greenfinch
Blackbird
Swift
House Martin
Guess which one was worth writing home about!
So can you beat that? Simple rules, all birds to be spotted whilst you are on a sun lounger.

Not a sun lounger, but my hammock in my back garden. One day in mid September a couple of years ago, in the space of 15 minutes three large birds of prey flew overhead - first a buzzard, then what I think was probably an osprey, then the buzzard going back again. It was amazingly exciting and I didn't stay in the hammock for long as I kept on dashing back and forwards to the house to try to get my family as excited by what I was seeing as I was.
