Software to use for lists

Hi,

Does anyone recommend any software to download for keeping bird lists?

I currently use Excel and list online on the Birdtrack/ Bird Atlas websites. Although the website is being filled in as part of my efforts for the Bird Atlas work. I do find it very time consuming to fill in.

Likewise the Excel spreadsheet is OK but I want it to do more than it does, and I am no wizard with Excel to create formulae to manipulate it to how I want.

Any ideas?
