Shorebirds in South Korea and Hong Kong

Hi All,

Just posted a bunch of photos on my blog taken in HK and by my brother in South Korea - includes photos of stints, plovers, and juv Spoon-billed Sandpipers.

If you'd like a look they're at http://www.charliesbirdblog.com

Cheers

Charlie

Addendum to Charlies words.....S.K.....brilliant place to see some extremely rare shorebirds in good numbers. Unfortunately something needs to be done about the enviro disaster which will happen there very soon. The place to go is a large area of tidal mudflats called Saemangum where you can see thousand's of Great Knot, Red-necked Stints, Broad-bills and the absolutely fabulous Spoon-billed Sandpiper!!
Unfortunately this area is threatened by a tidal barrier which will serve no useful purpose whatsoever.....too salty for agriculture, too soft for construction....the barrier will re-claim land ostensibly for rice paddies and habitation.
Get onto your local and national political representatives and start causing havoc.....Bush jnr was there recently, didn't hear much about what was said but I bet it included oil, trade and North Korea.....nothing about the destruction they are causing.....all sounds too familiar!!!
