[Hello, There.
I am trying to find someone to help me with a sighted Roseated Spoonbill in Cedaredge, Colorado on Sept. 24th at 5:15 pm blue sky, around 60 degrees mixed with Mallards, Canada Geese, Snow Geese and Kildeers.
I was birding near to what it seems a drying out pond on the small town of Cedaredge, about 12 minutes away from Eckerth.
My father in law, showed me the spot for raptors and possible Snow Geese sights, to my suprise, i spotted a pink colour among the Snow geese flock, since i did not have my scope i try to focus on the colour rather than anything else. Suddenly the wings strecth wide open and i got to see good details on lenght and shape of them. Since i live by the coast and mangroves in Costa Rica and Spoonbill is nothing new at all and to be able to reconized this bird is not difficult to me.
I read everything i got about spotting thei bird with the state and everything pointed to rare or accidental. Can anyone help me to see if its new to the area or not?
Muchas gracias,
Randall Ortega
