Red Crested Pochard



Over at St Mary's Island this morning spotted a solitary Red Crested Pochard, Can anyone enlighten me as to frequency of this visitor, as I have never seen one here before

RCP's are almost always of doubtful origin: they are commonly kept in waterfowl collections and turn up all over the place. Green Park in London is swarming with them. No doubt truly wild birds do exist, but.....

Thanks for your quick reply not sure if escapee though, as the only Waterfowl collection that I know of is at Washington Waterfowl Park some 15 - 20 miles away South of St Mary's one will never know.
