undefined This late Fall for the first time that anyone ever has known the Province of New Brunswick has become home to the Red Bellied Woodpecker. Not just in the southern warmer part of the Province but here in the North. At first I thought it was a temporary visitor to the bird feeders but it is now well into cold snowy weather and she is still here and friends tell me they have a male red belly at their feeders. They have made a big leap from the more southern climate of the USA. We are delighted to have them. Joy2
Hi there Joy. Don't think you have ever been formally welcomed here so here's a warm welcome to you from those of us on staff here at BirdForum.
Congratulations on your Red-bellied. They are marvelous and I guess I should not take them for granted so much when I hear the joy in your post about having them around. Enjoy your Red-bellied.
Hi Joy2 and welcome,
It's always nice to see a common bird locally greeted with such enthusiasm somewhere else. Amazing how far north those Red-Bellies are beggining to stray. It was only the fairly recent past that they were considered uncommon in Connecticut.
