I'm surprised I am the first to answer your thread, i'm sure there are lots of interesting bird stories. Well heres mine anyway:
On 13th November 2005 I went with my grandad to see the Laughing Gull at Dungeness. We visited the RSPB reserve briefly frst and found out that a Dusky Warbler had been found that morning. We arrived at Dungeness and after a small wait the Dusky Warbler showed reasonably well for a short period of time. We then walked to the beach and had distant views of the Laughing Gull. We went the following day with my Uncle and had extremely close views of the Gull as it flew within twenty feet of us along the beach.
Other good days have included Whiskered Tern and Honey Buzzard in a day in June and Desert Wheatear and White Stork in a day in November.
