Trip report in my blog. Castro Marim part is ready. I'll try to write rest asap.
Some of the highlighst were Marsh Sandpiper, Richard's Pipit, Lesser Flamingo and couple of introduced species.
Crikey you diid well at Castro Marim! Shows that full investigation is worthwhile!
look forward to the rest of your report.
Great list, well done..... Castro Marim is one of those places that I've visited quite a few times, but always just 'popped in' when on the way to/from somewhere else - I really should have a proper look one day!
For example, I was there on Sep 8th this year, but had spent the morning further W along the coast - result was that it was about 1:00pm by the time I arrived at the small ruin, had a quick walk for a couple of hundred metres before being driven back into the car by the heat (and comparitive lack of birds, it has to be said!)
As it used to say on my school reports - 'Must Try Harder!!'
Look forward to hearing about the rest of your trip....
All the best... Ray
