Last year I posted some of my experiences with my photo life list. 2011 was a pretty good year. I added 54 new species bringing my total to 456 wild birds photographed and another 50 or so upgraded images.
I've started my 2012 progress gallery. A recent trip to Florida gave me about 20 new species. I'm going through them methodolically so as not to end up with a mess. This gallery is at http://rustyblades.smugmug.com/Natu...84013&k=85DC3dr
There's quite a good feeling when you capture a new species or upgrade an existing image..
In the previous post I also mentioned a hard copy of my photo life list which I produce for myself. The images against each species are almost like frozen memories and upon seeing the image I can remember exactly when and where and the weather when I took the photograph. I'm trying to do this on an annual basis and the 2011 volume is my second attempt. It went very well, the only hiccup being my revision to the numbering scheme. In fact, I've already started the 2012 volume adding new speces and upgrades as I catalogue them.
I've made the book available for public viewing to help anyone who may be thinking of doing something similar.
The 2011 book is at http://www.blurb.com/bookstore/detail/2947564
The 2010 book is at http://www.blurb.com/bookstore/detail/1951603
With blurb you pay for the book in 40 page increments, so I finish off the book with additional nature images.
I'd be interested in hearing from others who are maintaining a photo life list and what they are doing to increase their enjoyment.
