Picked up another eight today but off work tomorrow so hoping to get out to see a LOT more!

Caught a stomach flu and it really started acting up on January 1st!Was
out at Wanipigow Lake,Manitoba for our annual New Years Eve celebration.
First bird heard or seen was,
1.Blue Jay
and the only other bird seen the rest of the day was,
2.Common Ravens
feeding on road kill on the way home.
But in the previous two days at the lake did see Snow Buntings,
Pine Grosbeaks,Evening Grosbeak,Black-capped Chickadees,Downy
Woodpecker and Pileated Woodpecker.
Did go out for a walk at 12:00 midnight but did not see or here any owls.
And very unusual for the long trip there and back ,I did not see a Great
Grey Owl or a Northern Hawk Owl!
Here's hoping for a better start in the future!

Ventured out for a few hours,today,in Winnipeg to run some errands.
Added to my years list were;
3.House Sparrow
4.Black-billed Magpie
5. Rock Dove
Did check for the White-throated Sparrow but not around.
You did better than me Darrell - I only got ONE bird yesterday and that was a Blue Tit
