Like many of you, there are certain birds that are so pretty, cool, etc., that you ask around, inquiring about the closest sightings, and those birds get added to a Most Wanted List. Basically, a Most Wanted List is a list of those birds that you've never seen before but want to see so badly that it's taken over your life.
For example, here's my Most Wanted List:
1. Green Heron
2. Black-and-White Warbler
3. Red Crossbill
4. Evening Grosbeak
5. Bobolink
6. Indigo Bunting
7. Scarlet Tanager
8. Cedar Waxwing
9. Red-Breasted Nuthatch
10. Gray Jay
11. American Bittern
12. Black-Crowned Night-Heron
13. Glossy Ibis
and many more.
Of course, I recently removed the Most Wanted bird (Green Heron) from the list. It was a chance sighting, and I only saw the bluish tint of the wings as it sat in the shadows of nearby trees, hunched over the water. Using my camera's 30x digi-optical zoom, I snapped a picture, and I was surprised to see the distinct coloration of my Most Wanted Bird!!!
What are your Most Wanted Birds?
