Hi Folks,
We recently visited the little known Mishmi Hills of Arunachal Pradesh in the northeastern corner of India. The area has opened up recently and many rarities like Rusty-throated Wren Babbler, Sclater's Monal, Blyth's Tragopan, Gould's Shortwing, Wedge-billed Wren Babbler etc. have already been reported from here.
Our November exploratory trip tallied over 200 species in and around the area - many of which were new to us.
Those interested in knowing about the area may find the kolkatabird pages at

of interest.
The trip report and trip list can be found at:

Merry Christmas and a Very Happy New Year to all!
Cheers!

Hi Sumit
merry xmas to you too...
thanks for the report - wonderful part of the world. The Sclater's pic is amazing and the rice wine brought back memories of fuzzy heads too.
Arunachal, Nagaland and Mishmi must be the best birding trip i can think off! ![]()
