Mexico Trip Report 2008

I have just uploaded my trip report to Mexico to my web site. My thanks go to Steve Howell whose guide book 'Where to watch birds in Mexico' was an invaluable source of information as well as BF members who offered advice.

Hi Sue,
very nice trip report. I was lucky enough to visit the the yucatan last november and went to a lot of the same places (not palenque unfortunately!) Sorry you were ill.
I think your pic labelled gray hawk is actually a roadside hawk though. I think gray hawk has a dark iris. Not 100% sure by any means though.
best wishes,
James

Cool trip report with great photos!! I've visited most of the same sites some years ago-your report brings back memories. Sorry to read about you both feeling ill. A friend of mine also got food poisoning while in Palenque and missed Aplomado Falcon because of it!
James is right about the Hawk; the pic is of a Roadside- note the rufous in the wings and brownish back. The pic of the Lineated is actually of a Pale-billed Woodpecker- very similar looking bird but with white stripe not reaching the bill.
