Med gull Lowestoft/ Bean Goose Oulton/

A second Winter Med Gull was present today on the South Beach at Lowestoft. It was seen with other Larus gulls in Childrens corner. It may have been one of the 20 odd birds from Great Yarmouth although there has been second & first winter birds at nearby Pakefield.

Also my friend Colin took me to see a Bean goose on stubble near to his home this afternoon at Oulton just North of Lowestoft. The biggest concnetration is on the Buckenham marshes in the Yare Valley. Single birds have been recorded from Somerleyton marshes in the past too.

Finally a Red breasted Goose was seen today with a flock of c60 Barnacle Geese at Covehithe near Southwold Suffolk. No doubt this bird will come up as of unknown origin.

That's two lifers for me Colin, Bean Goose and Mediterranean Gull. The first is a rare bird here, the second has never been seen here, or should I say, never been accepted here. I'm sure it'll turn up soon.
