We have just returned from a successful 3-day visit to the Camargue area of France - the first time for us in winter.
The specialities of the region performed reasonably well for us, with the highlights being Wallcreeper, Eagle Owl, Bonelli's Eagle, Alpine Accentor and Penduline Tit.
For more details and some DSLR pics of 4 of the above, and others, see my full illustrated trip report on my website at http://www.stephenburch.com/trips/france09/france09.htm
Hi Stephen
Very informative and a good read. Funny how even a record shot of a bird like the Eagle Owl is worth seeing. I have a couple of pairs in my patch.
I often consider making the drive up to the Camargue as I don't live too far away but haven't quite managed it yet.
All the best
