hi all there are Little Egrets at Manningtree, Essex, we have seen them several times, there are about 4 or 5.
We nearly missed them assuming they were just gulls, until we looked through the bins.
Best spot of the summer upto now however.

Manningtree brings back so many memories for me. As a child we used to travel from Manchester to Dovercourt for our holidays and stay with my grandmother. Manningtree was the point at which we knew we were nearly there (on the train). The countryside opens up and the view of the water is really great. I have been back since as an adult and still think it holds some magic!

Hi James, yes we love to walk and watch around that area.
We live at colchester so we often drive to Flatford and walk to Manningtree and beyond.
There is also an RSPB reserve called Stour estuary and near harwich.
It is pretty good all year round.
