However, what I really wanted to tell people about was that I was kicked out of one of the best birding spots on the island (which has unrestricted access) for not having a permit for what the official called "proffesional photographic equipment" i.e. an SLR with a telephoto lens. I have been uable to find out more about this.
Suffice it to say it ruined my last days birding / photography on the island!
