Hi all
I've just finished my trip report from a week of birding in Egypt in March 2006 and if anybody's interested it can be found at:
http://www.freewebs.com/richbonser/egyptmarch2006.htm
We visited the Cairo area, the Red Sea coast and Luxor and, despite the title of this thread, the closest we got to any tourist attractions was driving past the Giza pyramids en-route to a Kittlitz's Plover site...
Cheers and good birding
Rich
Hi Rich.
Great report.
I was with Ken Shaw and saw the Tropicbird. We did a lot of seawatching because we were based in Hurgarha not moving around like you. We also had some strange records including GBB Gull, Med Gull and Slender billed Gull. It was great on the last couple of days there was a large passage of Sooty and WE Gulls and many Creasted terns. I would love to go back to that part of the world. I will go back in May time for the Booby and WC Tern.
Another excellent report Rich, really enjoy reading them and thanks for providing a wealth of info.
Tom.
