World Trip Reports

Just got back from Northern California...

...with 3 new birds on my life list
• Red breasted sapsucker
• Yellow warbler
• Cliff swallow (?)

Along with one as-of-yet unidentified bird that was in a field and a hawk of some sort...

Actually, none are 100% positive ID's as I forgot my field guide and had to ID them 7 hours later at home x_x I also got a better view of a yellow-billed magpie

Red-breasted is one that has evaded me when I have been out west. I would really like to get one sometime!

Most of them were accidental! I saw the swallows down the street, ran back to the house to get my camera, and on the way back out scared the yellow warbler out of the bushes. I realised there were a few of them, and watched them through my binos, when I swept across the sapsucker! It flew to the neighbor's tree, and I walked closer, scaring the bird in the field into view too!

I never did get a good pic of the swalows
