Hi there
I am thinking of going to Italy in late Sept / very early Oct. Is this a good time to go? Will I still see some nice passerines or will everything be gone?
Also where is nice to go to? I was thinking southern Italy or one of the Islands? It will be alot of birding / nature and maybe 3/4 days of culture to keep people happy!
Hope someone can help

Hello Suffolk. That period is definitely OK to watch passerines in Italy. May I suggest the Po Delta ? Late Sept / early Oct is exactly the best period to have the maxinum number of species present there (a mix of late summer birds, migrants and early wintering). Moreover the Po Delta is very close to two of the most important cities of Art in Italy: Venice and Ravenna. Please check my blog out to find more info about the Po Delta birds:
