Here in Gloucestershire, UK, I have come across plenty of Redstarts, Pied Flycatchers, Willow Warblers, Chiffchaffs, Blackcaps, Garden Warblers, Common Whitethroats, Cuckoos and Sedge Warblers BUT only one of Reed Warbler, Lesser Whitethroat and no Spotted Flycatchers at all (although it may still be a wee bit early for the latter). Two years ago, I noted Spotted Flycatcher to be as common if not more so than Pied. What are other readers findings this year?
Only had my first Spott Flys last Sunday.. Reed Warblers are in here in record numbers... only seen one Lesser Whitethorat though
Garden Warbler, Lesser Whitethroat, Grasshopper Warbler, Cuckoo all up on last year at least. Spot Flys dribbling in. Pied Fly and Redstart are as rare as the proverbial rocking horse droppings around here and this year could draw a blank (there's optomistic for the autumn
)
