I'd have thought you have to be careful wandering close to a military base with optical and photographic gear?
Good for you, there are some reasonably common birds here in the UK I've still not seen, LS Woody to name but one.

I actually work on the Base but would never take a camera onto the flight line. I'd get away with a pair of bins due to my job.
