Nice male on Cosmeston lake this morning (20th October). Slight concern about the head shape, and couldn't get much on the bill, but good ruddy bronze colour all the way through, white eye and vivid white undertail.
Any recent news of any nearby ?

There's been a few reported on birdguides in the last month, inc drakes at Eyebrook (Leics) to 12th Oct and Worcester Canal / Westward Pool (Worcs) 13th-14th & 17th - perhaps the same bird, moving west, and now moved west again??, and closer, one at Roath Park Cardiff on 13th only

Thanks for that Michael - I put the info out locally - asking if anyone would have a look - just had a call and the four people there at the moment are happy that it is a good call.
I realised afterwards that my concern with the head shape was because I was looking down on it (from a bridge).
It is only about 50 yards from where I turned up the Pied-billed Grebe a couple of years ago !
