What place are there that I should go to see birds and what can I expect to see at this time of year.
When I was lucky to be there on business several years back, I visited a nature reserve that was described as the remains of rain forest. It was easy to drive to (south west of New Orleans, I think), was well kept with hides and log pathways - and lots of birds to be seen, too!
