World Trip Reports

Florida March 15th to 29th

Arrived late today after a couple of hours delay and intend adding my daily tallies rather than all at once.
First birds of the trip were several American Crows during a re-fuelling stop in Bangor, Maine. Large raptor, probably a Redtail seen from the plane but too far away for an ID.
First 2 lifers while still in Sanford airport were Boat-tailed Grackle and Northern Mockingbird. Almost certain that there was a Red-shouldered Hawk flying over as well but didn't get on it quickly enough to be certain. Sandhill Crane and European Starling on the way to the hotel were the only other birds seen.
The real birding will start tomorrow

Sounds like a good start. I've been in Florida this past week and have seen two Swallow-tailed Kites already back for the spring so maybe you'll see some also. Keep us posted on what you're seeing.

You will be in for a real treat whenever you reach Florida. The birds there are fantastic. I will be looking forward to hear about all the various birds you see!

Have a great time!
