Sounds like a worthwhile trip. Confiding siberian tit must have been a highlight along with the posey hawk owl.
How far did you have to travel as I have often thought of Tampere as a good destination as it can come up a cheap ryan air option.
I'm still trying to find cheap travel options to get me to the Crimea in July. So far best on offer is flight to Kiev, and then endless train journey (18 - 22 hours). Total £300.
