There will be a full trip report soon (when I catch my breath and get some rest!!), but here are some of the highlights.
Pictured below is one of the four lifers we encountered on our guided birding tour to Scotland (Ptarmigan, Capercaillie, Golden Eagle, Black Grouse).
The Ptarmigan we really had to work for, as you can see by our location in the group shot.
This Red Grouse, who we called Roger the Rogue Red Grouse, due to his forward nature, was trying to see us off as we pulled into a layby to look for raptors. He seemed to be chasing all the red cars away from his patch. The shot was hand-held as I didn't want to scare him by going into the boot for my tripod.
Nice shots, Diane. It looks a bit cooler than Cyprus (where I spent Easter)!
What were your other two lifers--surely not black grouse and capercaillie!
I was walking around in a t-shirt & jeans yesterday afternoon!!!
Congrats on the lifers. Hope you didn't see any Mr digi-birder missed!!
