Hi Just spent Five days birding Central Park in New York + a day trip out of the city to Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge
There are lots more places to get a bigger list but if you want relaxed birding and good looks at American Warblers ,Sparrows etc then the Park is a great place to bird and Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge is known as a great place for birding and it does not let you down the birders in the park are always willing to share there sightings and news of other birds that they have heard about and Jamaica Bay is as good a wet land area to bird that i have been to any where in the world Even in a "Slow Week" for warblers in the park we managed to see 17 species of Warblers 3 Vireos and 7 Sparrows Oh for slow weeks like that in England The star of the week in the park was a very showy Kentucky Warbler which spent almost a whole day on lawns around strawberry fields and at Jamaica Bay the sight of a male Blue Grosbeak by the Centre was our highlight Thanks to the Two local birders who came down the track to fetch us back to see it
Two Great places to go birding and friendly birders as well a great trip
