World Trip Reports

Danum Valley and Mount Kinabalu, Sabah, East Malaysia

For anyone interested, I've recently uploaded an account with photos of my recent trip to Sabah to my blog, here: http://digdeep1962.blogspot.com/

Thanks

Dave

Great report - I enjoyed the pix of forest birds - seriously tempted to go.

Cheers

Very nice trip report - quite interesting, as I just got back from Borneo as well.

This was primarily a diving holiday so we skipped Kinabalu & Danum, but we did spend a couple of days in the Kinabatangan river - got to see the Storm Stork, most of the hornbills (including the helmeted and the rhinoceros), lesser and white-bellied sea eagles, Wallace & Blythe's eagles, a scarlet-rumped trogon, blue-throated bee-eater, stork-billed kingfisher and a few others.

I have to admit - it was a bit disheartening to see the amount of habitat loss in Sabah. i was expecting something wild...
