Local birders have been enjoying the recent treat of 1st County Record Le Contes Sparrow and 2nd County Record Common Grackle. We are all delighted and can't wait for the Arcata Christmas Count, and, the out of town birders who will come for the above. Our area likes to promote itself for the birds and it seems the rarities are living up to that reputation as well.
