This is not a trip report but latest information on package holidays to this bird filled paradise. In 2008 First choice discounted their holidays to this destination and a number of memebers took advantage of that following Steve gerrard's report.
I can reveal that Thomson and First Choice are once again doing package holidays to Costa Rica. If you choose your date carefully and hotel it is possible to get 14 days all Inclusive for under £1000 each. I have checked and there is no cheaper way to get there than with these tour operators.
Of course once you get there you can do your own thing. Suggest a read of Steve's report would be beneficial if interested and just do a search on here to find it.
My wife and I have jumped in and booked already for December.
Yeah, but my wife and I are going next year. We've been twice before on arranged tours but this time we are doing it all ourselves by arrangement with the tour guide we had on both previous ocassions. Because we also like our home comforts we are not going to rough it. That's the expensive part. But at the moment BA are offering economy from London via Miami at less than £1000 pp - according to the websites

Thanks for the info Robert. Good to hear that First Choice have re-instigated these packages.
That Steve Gerrard should forget about birding reports and just stick to Fitba' !!!
