Black Redstart

Put this in 'rarities' as that's what I've been told it is. Please feel free to remove / move it somewhere more appropriate if not.

But - Black Redstart ....today .... Gt Yarmouth, in the grounds of an abandoned warehouse / factory unit on South Denes Rd, beyond the power station (heading toward harbour mouth).

I was only parked up having my dinner, organising the afternoons work but had some very good views inc. a couple of it on the chainlink fence right outside my window.

Very nice, Karl - good sighting. In London (so I've been told) they liked bomb-sites after the war, but most of those have now been built on, ready to provide targets for next time ...

A very nice bird, Carlos. We were very fortunate to get this bird during the bird count on Sunday..... Steve is very lucky to have them as annual breeding birds on his property in Bucks (nobody believed him when he said he had them). Steve has a large number of disused and decaying buildings (old chicken farm) and they make their home amongst them. I'm jumping for joy when I get a Common Redstart in my back garden!
