Birding in the rain.

Hey up folks,
looked at the weather this morning and straight away i thought "let me out ".
The constant drizzle and light southerly wind meant i started imagineing flocks of tired waders constantly dropping onto my local patch !
Well no harm in a spot of daydreaming as long as it does'nt turn into STRINGING!!!!!!!
Got to my local patch for 0815 and straight away had a new in Garden Warbler singing in the rain .Then soon after came two House Martins with the local Sand Martins and Swallows feeding over the main settling lagoon .Reed Warblers in this normally"birdless" part of Staffordshire are rare.So i was well chuffed when i found one singing in a small clump of phragmites on the fishing pool.Next up came three bosting Wheatears feeding around the conveyor belt.Still the rain continued to fall and suddenly so did the waders! Not in the dreamt of flocks but nevertheless 3 Ringys, 1 Dunlin and 3 Lrp's is bloody good going round here !
Rockbirder

Worth getting up for then

Martin
