Bird families in a day

Reading the Wrong Order Ticks thread on shrikes I got to thinking how many shrike species I had seen in one day in the UK. I can't think of any instance of more than two - Woodchat and Red-backed. Three must be possible in the spring or autumn but has anyone got four in a day?

I did see three Swift species inside an hour in Devon in the mid-eighties, I was lucky to get the Slapton Little Swift amongst Common Swifts and then went to Berry Head for the long staying Alpine. Beat that!

I also had six warbler species on January 1st one year, again all in Devon. A visit to Kenwith in Bideford gave me the wintering Dusky and Yellow-browed as well as Chiffchaff and Blackcap (before breakfast!) and I couldn't resist going to see Cetti's and Dartford on the way home.

Have any of you managed a good clean-up of a bird family in a day?

I`ll consider again, but the Harriers at Elmley in 2002 was a good day - Pallid, Monty`s, Hen & Marsh....

I'd forgotten that one - I was there too!
