I have just added some pictures to a thread that I started under Europe/Cyprus, whilst visiting friends in Cyprus.

I'm no expert on flowers, however Cyprus is noted for its orchids in spring and although the countryside can be pretty barren, there would be plenty of other species of plants to keep one interested.
Personaly I would make the Greek island of Levos a better bet, if I was planning a spring visit for anyone interested in natural history.
