Hi,
I just posted two new trip reports from Azerbaijan on our blog. On tours with groups from Germany and Denmark we had great observations and I got a couple of nice pictures again. Please have a look:

Nice report Tetrax
Azerbaijan is clearly the place in the "current" Western Palearctic for Shikra; good success with the mountain birds as well.
Have you ever been to Shervan NP?
cheers, alan
Hi Alan,
You probably mean Shirvan, the NP with the Goitered Gazelles?! Concerning ornithological data this is the best covered place in Azerbaijan. I spent several months there, doing a lot of mist netting, migration counts, point stop counts for breeding birds and winter surveys. It is usually the first place you go when coming to Aze for birding or nature in general. The park is always worth a visit with many semi desert species and a huge wetland.
