Just back from three weeks in Argentina.
BirdForum's Fritz73 took me around Costanera Sur reserve and showed some species I would certainly miss otherwise. Thanks again Fritz!!!
This place is great nature reserve in the middle of Buenos Aires with Southern Screamers, Giant and Slaty-necked Wood Rails, Rufescent Tiger Herons and other goodies among afternoon joggers.
Overall, Iguazu and Urugua-i reserve with Ornate Hawk-Eagle, Black-fronted Piping-Guan and Dusky-legged Guan, then Valdez peninsula with Orcas and both Giant Petrels (not to mention comical sea mammals and penguins), then Ushuaia with Gentoo and Austral Parakeets, then Los Glaciares with Hooded Grebe, Magellanic Plover and Black-throated Huet-huet.
Had constant problems with airlines - they even broken indestructible Manfrotto tripod. Overall, people are great and I just miss that I had 3 weeks not 3 months!

Jurek,
Sounds like a great trip!
Yes, a long term wish of mine is to visit the Valdez Peninsula. A little bit jealous! How did you travel down there, and within Patagonia?
