Today in between meetings I went to a local reservoir. The only bird on the lake, besides a Clark's Grebe, was an adult Arctic Tern. This was my first for Colorado and local area. I observed and identified it and several minutes later several of my birder friends drove up to tell me about the tern. My luck was very good today. Van

It's the commonest tern where I am, with three breeding colonies in Northumberland totalling around 3,400 pairs . . . see my pic in the 'members faces' section of the gallery

Nice picture. It's the ONLY tern we have in my neck of the woods and they are common to abundant. I wouldn't mind a Clark's Grebe turning up on my local pond though!
