Hi,
Now that 2005 is coming to a close I thought an update on my Archers (radio 4) list was nigh. So far I have clocked:
skylark
Herring gull
Black Headed gull
Beeater (regularly!!)
swallow
house martin
blackbird
Tawny owl
Barn Owl
GSW
Green Woodie
Dipped on Alexandrine parakeet. This was a lifer for the rapidly fading Jack Wooley. Not sure if it ever called.
Yours, somewhat tongue in cheek
Jono
PS Are herring gulls regular on desert islands or did Roy Plumley and Sue Lawley get it wrong, surely frigate bird etc?
Wasn't there once a Black Woodpecker reported near Ambridge? Or was that a stringy record?
ce
Hi,
Totally unconfirmed report. Can't remember the stringer, but suspect seen halfway up Lakey Hill by some consumer of several shires. Otherwise another Lynda Snell scam.
