World Trip Reports

Andalucia 2005

I will get round to writing a proper trip report when I have unpacked. I didn't take many pictures but I saw some amazing sights. Perhaps the most memorable was being buzzed while swimming by a flock of Short-toed Eagles that had drifted out into the Atlantic by a stiff SW wind and were extremely happy so see land. I spent a day on the beach and watched 1000s of Honey Buzzards, 100s of Eagles and a good few Harriers do the same.

Passage though the mountain passes was spectacular - the bush in the last pic had Pied and Spot Flys, Redstart and Black Redstart as well as the ubiquitous Dartford and Sardinian warblers in it. There are Booted Eagles and Vultures visible on the full sized scenery pic too.

Here are a few photo's to be getting on with.

I'll look forward to reading your report Jane. I'm off to Andalucia in a week's time.

OK, I'll make a complete 'hole of myself and suggest Griffon Vulture for the first pic. Now tell me what it really is!
