Aeons ago I read a comment in some bird book to the effect that Siberian birds were the most keenly-desired vagrants in the UK. Since I've always had this romantic notion of American birds getting swept across the Atlantic (just don't mention boats!) this always struck me as odd. But then, I'm one who likes my rare birds to look "different".
I've often wondered which of us was right. I could well imagine that those who relish identification challenges might well prize eastern birds higher.
So which vagrants do you prefer - Sibes or American ? And why?

Sibes every time
the 'boat' thing kind of puts me off for the Americans. Plus the natural habitats of the eastern birds are much more enchanting.
I'm so captivated by them I'm trying to get a trip overland from Moscow organised out to Baikal / Siberia this summer for a few weeks to see some of our rare vagrants in good numbers in a nice place
100000% sibes... preferably small skulking brown ones
Subtle...occur in proper birding locations (not container ports and housing estates)..
I rest my case.
