Back from Alvor in Portugal after a 2 week family holiday. Any birding that was done was within walking distance of Prainha village apartments or from the bus on coach trips.
From the apartments and fairly close by some of the more sought after birds were,
bee eater
hoopoe
serin
red rumped swallow
alpine swift
sardinian warbler
crested tit
red necked nightjar
crested lark
azure winged magpie
spotless starling.
Goldfinches and collared doves were everywhere, but having travelled from Cap St Vincent across as far as the Spanish border I only saw 1 turtle dove.
