Greetings,
I'd be interested to have this picture added to the Bird Database if possible. If anyone has any suggestions on how to do that I'd be very appreciative.
While the attachment is a poor scan of a poor picture, it was considered a lucky opportunity by those who have spent years trying to see this bird. It's found mostly in the higher elevations of the Lamington National Park of Australia's Gold Coast region. This bird (a male, I believe) was seen along the Border Track, a 20.7 kilometer hiking path between the Binna Burra and O'Reilly's Mountan Lodges. We saw this bird only about five minutes into our hike and another (but only very briefly) further down the path. Only this one posed for us though.
We watched this guy for several minutes during mid-July 2002, scratching for bugs on an old dead log and a couple of Eastern Yellow Robins were helping themselves to his left-overs. It was an impressive sight mostly because of the amount of excitement this bird causes in the local area - there's a great huge oil paining of a male in courtship display above the fireplace in the main room of O'Reilly's.
I wasn't a bird watcher at the time but was lucky enough to have my wife with me (she's a very good birder) and my trusty old Minolta.
As I said, I'd be happy to add this picture to the database if someone would be kind enough to tell me how.

Hi Joe, a great bird and no mistake.
In general photos should be uploaded to the main birdforum gallery here http://www.birdforum.net/pp_gallery/ and then the database editors take them from there (well, just the link actually)
It should be quite straightforward to add to the main gallery, just hit the 'Upload Photo' button and fill in what details you can.
With the bird in the gallery, a huge number of peope will get to see it and hopefuly some comments as well.
regards,
Andy
Andy,
Thanks for your prompt response. Unfortunately I was unable to find the "upload photo" icon, button (or link?). I tried looking in the FAQ section but still managed to be confused. When I clicked on the link in your reply, I was sent to the gallery section, but as a guest. Once I re-logged in, I wasn't able to find the upload area. I'm using the Windows XP operating system. I was pretty impressed that I was able to upload a jpg file a few minutes ago - now I'm less impressed with my cyber-skills! Any suggestions will be appreciated - sorry to take so much of your time.
Joe
